I go by many names…
Some call me Wanye, others know me as Wan Sifu, there are those that once would call me Old Man Wang… I was once named Wei Tzai during training in China but, and I feel the most important name I have been given is Da Yu!
This name was imparted on me around 2003 whilst training Kung Fu around Shaolin in Henan province. The translation was shaky at the time “Big Sponge….or maybe….Big Space..?” until the school’s English teacher, Stone, informed me it would make sense one day and involved the absorption of knowledge that would stay with me throughout my life 🙏🏻
I have been many things throughout my time on this wonderful planet… Most notably a Shaolin Warrior in training, a Raving Lover of the Dance and a Photographer!
Shaolin taught me discipline and control over my mind and body. Raving taught me how to let go, have fun and connect with sooo many beautiful people and, I believe, Photography taught me balance between those two energy extremes and helps keep me grounded.
Presently I feel that all of my life experiences have come to a point where I understand how to combine them correctly and put my best self forward. Hence my Love for the name Da Yu!
I carry at least one camera with me whenever possible and enjoy shooting a wide variety of subjects from all creatures great and small, people, live events, temples and many more as you will see and I hope you enjoy from this site!
I have made a conscious decision to move forward with my Photography under another name that many of my close friends have known me by for some time so here I introduce myself to you as Wayne Cee!
It is an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance and I hope you enjoy this site as much as I am enjoying making it!
Finally… Like Baz Luhrman… I only speak from my own awareness of my experiences… Oh…and wear Sunscreen… now…
